Being the “best you can be” is really only possible when you are deeply connected to another. Splendid isolation is for planets, not people. -Dr. Sue Johnson

My Approach

Our relationships with others occupy a significant amount of our time as well as mental and emotional energy. Relationships with coworkers, friends, family, or roommates can be a source of great joy and fulfillment, but also can often be a source of stress and anxiety. Relationships are most successful when they are balanced and each individual’s wants and needs are known and understood.

To assist my clients in identifying and breaking free from negative beliefs and patterns that keep them stuck, I draw on a range of therapeutic models and theories that are tailored to their individual needs. By cultivating new ways of relating to others, my clients are empowered to stay true to themselves while deepening their connections with others.

I foster a compassionate and safe environment where clients can explore relational patterns and develop a deeper understanding of themselves and others. My clinical expertise includes support and growth with anxiety, communication, relationships, sex, and sexuality. I work to provide a supportive space where clients can explore their emotions, values, beliefs, needs, and desires.

As an affirming and knowledgeable therapist, I specialize in providing counseling for individuals, couples, and pods who identify as polyamorous, LGBTQ+, and/or kinky. My clients know that my knowledge in these areas means that I am not just affirming, but truly understand the unique challenges they face.
